I am finding that, as of late, the social media that is vital to sharing your work with your audience has become a popularity contest. Like this, share that, tag us, hashtag everything, it's too much. The unintended consequences of this are feeling like you aren't good enough, if no one "likes" your picture. Feeling like someone is better, because they have more followers. It is very frustrating to want to share your work and end up feeling like nobody saw what you did, thanks to the programming of the website.
I have decided that I am no longer participating in the popularity contest. I shall continue to share my work online and hope that people can see it.
