I got the news today that I have been selected to move up to Tier 2 as an Artistic Educator. The first part that is of interest to me is that I will be paid more for my time. Any new classes that I am scheduled will be at my new rate. However, the classes that have already been scheduled will be at the previous rate. This makes good sense and, of course, I am looking forward to being paid for what I can contribute.
The second portion of the new title gives me more opportunities to teach in more varied manners. So I can offer even more to the students and attendees, with hands on work and other types of more intensive classes. I may even be asked to go to locations further away than the Pacific Northwest. Or provide education to larger groups at bigger events.
I am very excited for this next portion of my educator journey. I will be making sure that I keep the quality top notch and that I represent Matrix to the utmost of my ability. I think that this will be a wonderful new role to fill.
