A tighter schedule

Working less, doing more

I have had a wonderful opportunity presented to me in this new year and that has given me the ability to work a shorter work week. Specifically, less days in the salon.

I absolutely love what I do for a career. However, I have noticed that in these times of financial concerns, I am not getting 4 full workdays at the salon. Much like when I chose to limit my work days to 4 a week, I can see that I am able to do the same amount of work, spread out over 4 days, in 3 days. So, therefore, I will be moving my schedule to only Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

That being said, I will still be available to work on days outside of those three days. Any appointments made outside of the my "official" work days must be arranged through me. I don't mind working more throughout the week, but I don't really want to hang out at the salon with nothing to do. Occasionally I can do walk-ins, but I don't want to rely on that to keep me occupied.

So, I have other activities that will be occupying my time on my 'days off'. I will have the ability to share more content on social media, I can dive into my research for my PhD(totally autodidactic), I will be caring for the most beautiful home in all of Eugene, I will also be curating my temporary exhibit on late 19th and early 20th century hair care and styling. That may turn into a mini museum that I can put up in my own home after that.

I am finally priortizing myself and my energy and scheduling needs. I am still very content to do the most amazing job in the world. I am also taking some time to do the other things that interest me.
